Complain and be suicidal. It's healthy.

Here, have another one of my very contentious philosophies. Hold on to your arses.

This ramble has two parts:
In praise of complainers, and
Suicide = better living.

They're actually the same theory, but you may also choose to skip to the interesting stuff. Oh, and the third thing: the world is quite secretly coming to an end.

In praise of complainers

We'll start this ramble with a question. Have you seen this kind of quote? They're bloody everywhere, the motherfuckers.

I am 999% against this kinda attitude. It's unhealthy as fuck.

It's called ignoring your problems because you're glad you don't have even more problems. Yeah, there are people starving out there, but that doesn't make your own issues invalid. There are two things you could be doing:
   1.) Actually help those people.
   2.) Or fucking help yourself.

You can do both. But don't just sit there like a fool being grateful you're not hungry. That doesn't help you, it doesn't help them, and it's a bloody excuse. Get off your arse. Do something.

It's a comparable logic to the "At least you're not starving" crap:

A problem with our culture is that we're told to stop asking for so much.

We need to complain more. No, that doesn't mean you sit around and grumble about it. Complaining is raising awareness. If nobody speaks up, you won't even realise how many problems there are. You should complain about your problems, complain about other your country's problems, complain about starving peoples' problems.

Everything can be a problem. There's no such thing as petty.

Just because misery is normal doesn't mean it's okay. For example, if you don't like the idea of 9-5 hours in an office every day of your life, then staying is a problem. Leave.

And what if you don't like it but "Well, it could be worse"?
Not good enough. Leave. It could always be worse.
If you were a slave being beaten every day, would you say, "Well it's ok, at least I'm not being raped every day as well."?? Seriously, fuck that logic.

Yeah, I know the common response is that the real world doesn't work that way.

But let me tell you that's bull shit. It just depends on how much you're willing to sacrifice.

I'm suicidal. It's not a curse, it's a blessing. I am not willing to live for anything short of my standards. Life is my enemy. I wish to beat it black and blue, and take from it all I want - or it'll have to kill me first. I don't mind.

This isn't the irrational sort of suicidal tendency we're talking about. It's conscious, it's perfectly controlled … most of the time. But I see it as freedom.  It means I have a fire exit in every situation, and I can never be trapped.

(Unless reincarnation exists, of course. That's why it scares me so much.)

Simply put, I'm not afraid to make demands; that's how you get anything out of life. You have to take it. Nobody's gonna hand it to you.

When things get hard, I look at my fire exit and calm down. I have an exit. I can leave now. Or I could try to fix the problem first.
"I wanted a bigger pie." Try to fix the problem.
"My house is too small."  Try to fix the problem.
"The world is secretly about to end."  Try to fix the problem. [Uncompleted.]

Yes, there are times when I just want to run to my fire exit. I haven't yet because so far I've managed to fix a lot of things. But I'm sick of people being so obsessed with targeting suicide like it's an illness. "You want to commit suicide because of this thing? Here are some ways you can learn to cope with the thing."

No. The urge to kill yourself is a symptom, not the problem. Go fucking deal with the cause. And if the cause can never be dealt with, and the person states rationally that they don't wish to live with that, you know what I'd do?

I would … *gasp* …  respect their decision! They are a fully conscious and sane human being. They are not ranting that they want to die over chocolate cake.

… And that's it. Don't stop demanding.

Do I think you should also install this fire exit in your life? Yes.
Should you go running through it on a whim? No. But you should know it's there.

Oh, by the way, corporations can sue your country now.

Petitions

:megaphone: It's a Death Star.
:megaphone: Fight for your internet.

Part of the actual documents, stolen by hackers. This shit affects Europe as well as Pacific and American countries. TTIP in Europe, and TPPA in the rest.

The dealers even know they're cunts. They're keeping the document so secret that even US Congress hasn't seen it yet, and won't see it until after it's been signed and locked.
Because of the protests, they're now speeding it up as much as possible. It's planned to be done by 2016.

In other words, a few big companies will rule the world. Hm. Every dystopian film ever, anyone?

This is incredibly deep and very interesting for me, I never thought of suicide in that way, and your rant about not complaining also really put into words what I've been thinking about for a while.
