v2022-01-01 Besides being a new digital artist, I am also a Linux enthusiast. I've been using Linux as my main operating system since 2006 (still using Windows for select things (games)). Back then, you really had to know how to use a computer to do even the most basic things and most of the software was way behind the propriety world. But the situation has significantly improved in 15 years. The vast majority of software for Linux is "Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)". It is both Free as in beer and Free as in speech, meaning that the source code is open to the public to download, use, modify, and redistribute at no charge. And a lot of it is quality stuff. I periodically create a custom Ubuntu install disk and recently I finished a manifest of software I like to better manage installing everything I want.
